Softball Recap: Harpeth Find Success

Harpeth and Sycamore pushed the score to 15-15 the last time they played Sycamore, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Indians skirted past the War Eagles 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

Taylor Riley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Riley wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Savannah Sewell, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That double was Sewell's first of the season.

Harpeth's win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Harpeth will head out to take on Portland at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Sycamore, they will venture away from home to challenge Cheatham County Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
