Soccer Game Preview: Middle Creek vs. Cardinal Gibbons + How To Watch

The Middle Creek Mustangs will challenge the Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Middle Creek will be strutting in after a win while Cardinal Gibbons will be coming in after a defeat.

Middle Creek is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Sanderson get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Wednesday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Middle Creek's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked sixth, while Sanderson are ranked 117th).

Middle Creek's offense was hitting Sanderson from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Jack Frary led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Cardinal Gibbons was a bit more limited in their contest on Monday. They fell 2-0 to Holly Springs. Considering the last time Cardinal Gibbons couldn't score was back in August, the team can't take the result too hard.

The win made it two in a row for Middle Creek and bumps their season record up to 11-1-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those two matchups. As for Cardinal Gibbons, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5-6.
