North Augusta is 9-1 against Midland Valley since August of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Yellow Jackets will head out to take on the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

North Augusta is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Brookland-Cayce: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Yellow Jackets blew the Bearcats out of the water with a 58-12 final score. Given the Yellow Jackets' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Bearcats are ranked 93rd) , the win on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Midland Valley hadn't done well against South Aiken recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Mustangs simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Thoroughbreds 43-14. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Thoroughbreds recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

North Augusta better keep an eye on Xavier Geter. He was instrumental in Midland Valley's win, rushing for 116 yards and one TD, while also throwing for 181 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Geter a new career-high in passer rating (163.2). Preston Smith helped out on the ground, rushing for 93 yards and a rushing touchdown.

One reason for the win was Midland Valley's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Aaron Adams Jr was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up three himself. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with ten. Another thorn in South Aiken's side was Triston Garrett, who forced one fumble, made nine total tackles, and defended one pass.

North Augusta's record now sits at 8-1. As for Midland Valley, their record is now 7-2.

North Augusta took their win against Midland Valley in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 45-21 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellow Jackets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
