Basketball Recap: Carmel's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

Carmel lost against Nazareth Academy back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Carmel Corsairs took a hard 51-32 fall against the Nazareth Academy Roadrunners. While losing is never fun, the Corsairs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Roadrunners are ranked tenth).

The loss snapped Carmel's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 13-15 record. As for Nazareth Academy, the victory was the 17th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 25-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carmel will welcome Joliet Catholic at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Carmel is facing Joliet Catholic at the right time seeing as Joliet Catholic is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Nazareth Academy, they will host Marist at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Nazareth Academy is on a five-game streak of home wins, Marist a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
