Heimes Posts Huge Game in 56-14 Victory

Starting off the list is Hartington-Newcastle's Cole Heimes, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Heimes rushed for 107 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 103 yards and two touchdowns on only five passes. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making 18 total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending a pass.

On the year, Heimes has thrown 8 touchdowns (and and only 1 picks) while averaging 118.8 passing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he was only averaging 10.5 passing yards per game.

Boyd County took down Bloomfield on Friday, a win that might not have happened without Hudson Hoffman's effort. Nobody could stop Hoffman as he rushed for 52 yards and two touchdowns.

Boyd County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Hoffman will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant performance when he faces off against Hartington-Newcastle on Friday.

Cole Bensen Makes It Two for Hartington-Newcastle

The second Hartington-Newcastle player making an appearance here is Cole Bensen, and for good reason. He rushed for -8 yards.

For the year, Bensen has averaged 3.8 rushing yards per game.

While Cash Wickersham delivered a dominant performance on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Niobrara/Verdigre. Despite the defeat, Wickersham was still balling out as he threw for 68 yards and a touchdown.

On the season, Wickersham has thrown 6 touchdowns while averaging 77.5 passing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he had one passing touchdown.

Cash Sinclair Turns in Season-Best Performance

Boyd County was led to victory by Cash Sinclair, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Sinclair wasn't messing around, picking up a sack and making 15 total tackles. The game was his fourth straight with seven or more total tackles dating back to last season.

This year, Sinclair has averaged 8.2 total tackles per game and for the season has 2 sacks.
