Football Recap: South Dearborn Knights vs. Franklin County Wildcats

South Dearborn lost against Franklin County back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Knights lost to the Wildcats at home by a 28-10 margin. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Griffin Sturgeon threw for 78 yards on five of 19 attempts. Elliot Meek was his top target, picking up 43 receiving yards. On the ground, Brady Ballart rushed for 48 yards.

It was another big night for Mason Wewe, who rushed for 140 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 116 yards and one TD on only nine passes for Franklin County. The Wildcats are undefeated when Wewe posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise. A healthy portion of Wewe's aerial production (97 yards to be exact) went to Carter Dozier, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

South Dearborn's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Franklin County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

South Dearborn wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 26-21 defeat against Rushville on the 10th. As for Franklin County, they have also already played their next game, a 49-6 victory against Batesville on the 10th.
