Dobie pile up the points against South Houston

Recap: Dobie Longhorns vs. South Houston Trojans

The Dobie Longhorns entered their tilt with the South Houston Trojans with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Dobie breezed by South Houston at home to the tune of 72-27. Considering Dobie has won four matches by more than 31 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Cameron Mathews was his usual excellent self, rushing for 200 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. Mathews' longest rush was for an incredible 72 yards. Another player making a difference was Damarcus Hodges, who rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries.

Dobie's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for South Houston, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dobie will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Atascocita at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. As for South Houston, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Deer Park at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Deer Park has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 434 points over their last nine matches.
