Baseball Recap: Randallstown Takes a Loss

Randallstown dropped their record down to 8-5-1 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 15-2 to the Catonsville Comets. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Comets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Randallstown saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Terrence Venable, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Venable is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

As for Catonsville, they pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by seven runs or more this season.

On Catonsville's side, they got a massive performance out of Logan Meiller, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Meiller a new career-high. John Kearney was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Coming up, Randallstown is taking a road trip to square off against Kenwood at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bluebirds have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.6 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Catonsville, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 38-4 win against Overlea on the 26th.
