Baseball Recap: Talawanda's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Talawanda came into Wednesday's game having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They never let the Northwest Knights get on the board and left with a 27-0 victory on Wednesday. The Brave's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Hunter Griffin made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Griffin was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs and four RBI. Those RBI marked the first that he brought in this season.

In other batting news, Eddie Tanner was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Adam Achterman, who scored three runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Talawanda always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
