Baseball Game Preview: Christ Prep Academy Patriots vs. The Daniel Academy Lions

The Christ Prep Academy Patriots will face off against The Daniel Academy Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Christ Prep Academy comes in on four and The Daniel Academy on three.

Christ Prep Academy proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by eight) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Plaza Heights Christian Academy, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Patriots have posted since March 24th.

Joshua Neland spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits.

On the hitting side, Christ Prep Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Neland, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday The Daniel Academy sidestepped Heartland for an 11-10 win.

The Daniel Academy let Hud Hanson and Isaiah Shore run wild. Hanson went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Shore went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Hanson has become a key player for The Daniel Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-5 otherwise. Isaac Runyan was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

The Daniel Academy pushed their record up to 4-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Christ Prep Academy, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
