Rockcastle County has gone a perfect 4-0 against Russell County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Rockets will host the Lakers at 6:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Rockcastle County was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Lincoln County on Thursday. The Rockets were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Patriots. The win continues a trend for the Rockets in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won nine in a row.

Sydney Holcomb looked comfortable as she pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Rockcastle County got a big performance out of Addi Lovell, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs Lovell has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Hensley, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Rockcastle County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincoln County only managed three hits.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Russell County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They never let Metcalfe County get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Thursday. Considering the Lakers have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Addison Hart made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Hart was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rylen McGowan, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Addy Abrell was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Rockcastle County pushed their record up to 11-8-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Russell County, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-9.
Rockcastle County took their victory against Russell County when the teams last played back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 11-2 score. Do the Rockets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lakers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
