Softball Recap: Cambria Heights Snags Tenth Victory in Last 13 Games

Cambria Heights won the last time they faced Portage and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Highlanders blew past the Mustangs 17-9. The result was nothing new for the Highlanders, who have now won nine matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Gina Lane was incredible, going 2-for-6 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brea Kountz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Cambria Heights was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .442. They are 9-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Cambria Heights has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Portage, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-15.
