Basketball Recap: Brayden Wright's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Reading over Morenci + How To Watch

Reading was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 61-44 bruising from the Morenci Bulldogs. The Rangers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

Reading's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brayden Wright, who posted 12 points in addition to eight assists and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Elder, who earned 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Reading's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Morenci, their win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-2.

Coming up, Reading is taking a road trip to take on Concord at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rangers' defense better be ready for this one: the Yellowjackets have averaged an impressive 60.7 points per game this season. As for Morenci, they will be home for the holidays to greet Summerfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Morenci will be up against Summerfield's rather soft defense (which has allowed 52 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
