Baseball Game Preview: Pavilion Golden Gophers vs. Keshequa Indians

The Pavilion Golden Gophers will head out on the road to face off against the Keshequa Indians at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Pavilion can't be too worried about heading out to take on Keshequa: they just beat Notre Dame at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Golden Gophers beat the Fighting Irish on Friday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Gophers.

Meanwhile, Keshequa was able to grind out a solid victory over Perry on Thursday, taking the game 5-2.

Aiden Howe was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Brady Wood was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Pavilion's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Keshequa, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.

Everything went Pavilion's way against Keshequa in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Pavilion made off with a 17-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Gophers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
