Baseball Game Preview: Sandusky Blue Streaks vs. Perkins Pirates

Sandusky hasn't had much luck against Perkins recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Blue Streaks will take on the Pirates at 4:45 p.m.

Sandusky came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Norwalk, falling 7-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Blue Streaks were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Perkins made easy work of Lorain on Thursday and carried off a 13-5 win. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Quentin Binette looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Kash Koch and Dylan Crabtree did most of the damage at the plate: Koch scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Crabtree scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-4. Perkins is undefeated when Crabtree posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-2 otherwise. Sam Schweinfurth also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Perkins' record now sits at 4-2. As for Sandusky, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.

Sandusky couldn't quite get it done against Perkins in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-2. Can the Blue Streaks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
