Soccer Recap: New Hanover Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but New Hanover had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They beat the Ashley Screaming Eagle by a goal, winning 3-2. The game was the first time New Hanover have beaten Ashley on their pitch since October 25, 2021.

New Hanover hit Ashley with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Tre Bennett, Deyson Castillo, and Fisher Manning.

The victory (which was New Hanover's fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-5-2. As for Ashley, their defeat ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-5-3.

New Hanover has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Chapel Hill on the 18th. Ashley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
