Basketball Game Preview: Wheeler Mustangs vs. Clarendon Broncos

Wheeler is 2-8 against Clarendon since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. It'll be an old-fashioned rodeo when the Wheeler Mustangs duke it out with the Clarendon Broncos at 8:00 p.m. Clarendon took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Wheeler, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, Wheeler made easy work of Memphis and carried off a 61-41 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Meanwhile, Clarendon unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 41-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Panhandle.

Clarendon's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-10. As for Wheeler, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

Wheeler was dealt a bruising 79-39 loss at the hands of Clarendon in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Wheeler was down 39-19.
