Recap: Dooly County Bobcats vs. Wilcox County Patriots
Even though the Wilcox County Patriots scored an imposing 64 points on Saturday, the Dooly County Bobcats still came out on top. Dooly County took their match against the Patriots 71-64. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Dooly County also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Wilcox County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Londarius King. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 23 points and 20 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points King has scored all season. Alonzo Benjamin was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Dooly County's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Wilcox County, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dooly County will take on the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wilcox County, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Purple Hurricane at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. One thing working in Fitzgerald's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 13 contests.
