It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Asbury had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Elkmont Red Devils 46-44. This was a revenge game for the Rams: when they faced off against the Red Devils last Friday, they had to take a 49-46 defeat.

When it comes to explaining why Elkmont lost, don't look at McKenzie Doner. Despite the final result, she shot 50% from the field to rack up 20 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Nowlin, who posted seven points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Asbury's victory bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Elkmont, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-17.

Asbury didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-26 loss against Whitesburg Christian Academy on the 10th. Elkmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
