Baseball Game Preview: Stigler Panthers vs. McAlester Buffaloes

The Stigler Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the McAlester Buffaloes at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Stigler is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

It was a proper cat-fight when Stigler duked it out with Checotah on Monday. Stigler walked away with a 5-1 victory over Checotah. The five-run effort marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Tj Kettles was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Latch Smith also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for McAlester's offense. They lost 8-0 to Stephenville on Monday. The Buffaloes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Stigler pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for McAlester, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
