Basketball Recap: Idalia Comes Up Short

Idalia lost against Burlington back in February of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Idalia Wolves fell to the Burlington Cougars 38-32.

Despite the loss, Idalia saw an underclassman step up: freshman Broderick Kite almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. Kolby Morris was another key player, putting up nine points and four steals.

Burlington got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Weston Schaal out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Schaal has become a key player for Burlington: the team is 5-2 when he posts at least eight boards, but 0-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Darian Mcdonough, who posted 12 points.

Idalia has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Burlington, their record is now 5-8.

Idalia didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-52 win against Kit Carson on the 8th. As for Burlington, they have also already played their next contest, a 53-40 defeat against Limon on the 8th.
