Recap: University Trojans vs. Laguna Hills Hawks
There's no place like home for the University Trojans, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 79-71 win over Laguna Hills on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Christian Debarge, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 41 points and 4 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Shervin Moarrefian was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
University's win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Laguna Hills, they bumped their record down to 1-18 with that loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. University will square off against Woodbridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodbridge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than University in California (Woodbridge is ranked 132nd, while University is ranked 595th). As for Laguna Hills, they will head out on the road to challenge Portola at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Portola is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
