Football Recap: Colin Beeler Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Kingsway

Washington Township is still undefeated this season after their matchup against Kingsway on Friday, but Kingsway came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Minutemen sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 39-36 victory over the Dragons. The Minutemen have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Dragons, too.

Washington Township's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Colin Beeler, who rushed for 102 yards and two scores. Beeler is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Aquino, who threw for 252 yards and a pair of TDs.

Washington Township didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Jaylen Robinson, Isaac Parra, and Tyler Alicea picked up one apiece.

Washington Township's record now sits at 8-0. As for Kingsway, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-2.

Washington Township and Kingsway should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings. The Minutemen will challenge Timber Creek Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (9 vs. 76). Meanwhile, Kingsway (ranked 20th) will meet Williamstown (ranked 74th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
