Softball Recap: Gilmer County Now 12-1 over Last 13 Games

Gilmer County was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Tyler on Wednesday. The Titans' pitcher stepped up to hand the Knights a 10-0 shutout. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 matches by seven runs or more this season.

Erin Stoddard was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaelyn Mullins, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Gilmer County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive games.

Gilmer County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Tyler, their defeat was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-15.

Gilmer County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Knights: the pair will be back at it again later today.
