The Woodruff Wolverines's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 45-19 defeat at the hands of Fountain Inn. Woodruff has struggled against Fountain Inn recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Woodruff lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aziyah Burgin. Despite the final result, she scored 1 points along with 7 rebounds.
Fountain Inn was led to victory by Madison Garnett and Tori Bell. Garnett scored 8 points along with 9 rebounds, while Bell scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Bell is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Zipora Sullivan was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Woodruff now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Fountain Inn, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Woodruff will head out on the road to face off against Chesnee at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Chesnee comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Fountain Inn, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Laurens at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
