 Bear River and Mountain Crest are an even 5-5 against one another  since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Bear River Bears will head out on the road to  face off against  the Mountain Crest Mustangs at 3:30  p.m.  on Friday. Bear River will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
 Bear River only won by two when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-point they dealt Mountain Crest on Wednesday. Bear River put the hurt on Mountain Crest with a sharp  12-2 victory.
  Degan Rigby made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he  struck out eight batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   two  hits (and only one walk). Rigby has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Rigby was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with  an  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Gehrig Marble, who  went 4-for-4 with seven  RBI, a  triple,  and a  run. Another player making a difference was  Holden Potter, who  scored four  runs while going 2-for-3.
 Bear River's win was  their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 8-3. Those victories were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.2 runs per game. As for Mountain Crest, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
