Softball Recap: Tuscarawas Valley Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

Tuscarawas Valley won the last time they faced Carrollton and things went their way on Saturday too. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 16-3 margin over the Warriors. Considering the Trojans have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Hailee Rotunno was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Morgan Wright was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.

Tuscarawas Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carrollton only posted an OBP of .238.

Tuscarawas Valley's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Carrollton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-12.

Coming up, Tuscarawas Valley will square off against Conotton Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Trojans 2.5, the Rockets 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Carrollton, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against United at 5:00 p.m.
