Not much got past Marina Mason, who gave up just three hits and racked up 18 Ks to keep Nolensville off the board. Mason has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in 17 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Brentwood saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Black, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Christ Presbyterian Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 16-14 victory over Pope John Paul II on Tuesday. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Leah Robinson was incredible, going 4-for-6 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Audrey Townsend, who went 3-for-6 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.
Christ Presbyterian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Brentwood is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Christ Presbyterian Academy, they pushed their record up to 15-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
Everything went Brentwood's way against Christ Presbyterian Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2022, as Brentwood made off with a 16-9 victory. Will the Bruins repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
