The Lugoff-Elgin Demons had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 52-48 W over River Bluff on Tuesday. The win was all the more spectacular given Lugoff-Elgin's disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while River Bluff is ranked 38th).

Leading Lugoff-Elgin to victory were Braylen Mumford and Nigel Chivers. Mumford scored 12 points, while Chivers scored 16 points along with 8 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Chivers has scored at least 25% of Lugoff-Elgin's points. Savon Jenkins was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists.

Lugoff-Elgin's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for River Bluff, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lugoff-Elgin will stay at home for another game and welcome Camden at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th. River Bluff will take on Hartsville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hartsville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Friday.
