Football Recap: North Lawndale Takes a Loss

North Lawndale blew Urban Prep-Bronzeville/Urban Prep-Englewood out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday Urban Prep-Bronzeville/Urban Prep-Englewood got their revenge. The Phoenix fell just short of the Lions by a score of 14-12. The contest was a 6-6 toss-up at halftime, but the Phoenix couldn't quite close it out.

Ronald Brooks looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 62 yards and one score, while also throwing for 80 yards and one touchdown. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making three total tackles and defending four passes.

North Lawndale is on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3. As for Urban Prep-Bronzeville/Urban Prep-Englewood, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
