Volleyball Recap: Wednesday's Loss Ends Mathews' Winning Streak

Mathews lost against Western Reserve back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Mustangs fell 3-1 to the Blue Devils. The Mustangs' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While Mathews ultimately came up short, they really made Western Reserve work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 29-27, 22-25, 25-15.

When it comes to explaining why Mathews lost, don't look at MACI DARLINGTON. Despite the final result, she had 24 digs. With that strong performance, DARLINGTON is now averaging an impressive 10.4 digs per game. AVA SWESEY also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
