Basketball Recap: Westlake Drops Season-High Score on Gwynn Park

Westlake scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Gwynn Park Yellowjackets by a score of 72-70. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Wolverines have suffered since February 7th.

Westlake lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Darius Kemper, who went 13-for-20 on his way to 29 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 46.8% shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Israel Warner, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 17 boards.

Westlake's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Gwynn Park, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westlake will take on North Point in a holiday battle at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Gwynn Park and Central will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
