Basketball Recap: Morse Comes Up Short

If Morse was feeling good fresh off their 70-11 takedown of Wiscasset last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Morse Shipbuilders took a blow against the Oceanside Pirates on Friday, falling 66-33. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Shipbuilders came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 103rd in Maine, while the Pirates are ranked 393rd in California).

Morse's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Oceanside, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Morse didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-33 loss against Oceanside on the 24th. As for Oceanside, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 53-40 defeat against Carlsbad on the 24th.
