Volleyball Recap: Upper Arlington Comes Up Short

Upper Arlington came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Olentangy Orange Pioneers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pioneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-7, 25-19.

Roxy Rigo paced Upper Arlington's offense, picking up nine kills. Rigo got some help from Nia Fonoti and her 13 assists. Ava Montgomery controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

With the loss, Upper Arlington broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 15-5. As for Olentangy Orange, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 17-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Upper Arlington will take on rival Dublin Coffman at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Olentangy Orange is set to square off against their familiar foe Hilliard Bradley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
