Baseball Recap: Jefferson County Takes a Loss

Jefferson County and Science Hill squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Jefferson County had to settle for second. They fell 5-0 to the Hilltoppers. The defeat continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Hilltoppers: they've now lost five in a row.

Jefferson County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cainan Fawbush, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Jefferson County's loss dropped their record down to 21-20. As for Science Hill, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 31-12.

Jefferson County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Science Hill, they will venture away from home to square off against Oak Ridge on Wednesday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Hilltoppers surely won't give up without a fight.
