Baseball Game Preview: DeSoto Dragons vs. Valley Park Hawks

North County hit DeSoto with a five-run seventh inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Dragons fell 8-3 to the Raiders. The Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Valley Park came tearing into Wednesday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.1 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Pirates 16-8. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by eight runs or more this season.

Valley Park pushed their record up to 12-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for DeSoto, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.
