Football Game Preview: Sequatchie County Indians vs. Brainerd Panthers + Official Tickets

The Sequatchie County Indians will square off against the Brainerd Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Sequatchie County's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Brainerd has been banged up by ten consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

Sequatchie County blew Giles County out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Giles County got their revenge. The Indians fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 41-38. The game was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but the Indians couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, Brainerd played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 26-6 to Chattanooga Prep. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 296th, while the Sentinels are ranked 129th).

Sequatchie County's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-3. As for Brainerd, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Everything went Sequatchie County's way against Brainerd in their previous meeting back in November of 2018, as Sequatchie County made off with a 34-14 win. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
