Baseball Game Preview: Buena Colts vs. Pueblo Warriors

For the second straight game, Buena will face off against Pueblo. The Colts are taking a road trip to square off against the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Buena has seven straight wins, Pueblo has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Buena is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Pueblo 17-3 on Monday. The Colts might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Skylar Leon was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season. Nathan Whitworth was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.

Buena always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Buena pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Pueblo, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
