Softball Recap: Carolina Forest Wins Going Away Against Blythewood

While Carolina Forest put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Blythewood. The Carolina Forest Panthers put the hurt on the Blythewood Bengals with a sharp 7-0 win. While the Panthers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Kaysen Warehime made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kylee Warehime, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI and one triple. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Sienna Levy was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Carolina Forest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in four consecutive games.

Carolina Forest's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Blythewood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-2.

Carolina Forest has already played their next matchup, a 5-0 defeat against Midland Valley on the 8th. As for Blythewood, they will face off against Westwood at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Blythewood's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Westwood's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
