Soccer Game Preview: Strasburg vs. Clarke County

Strasburg hasn't had much luck against Clarke County recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Rams will welcome the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.

Strasburg's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Rappahannock County with a sharp 8-0 win. Strasburg haven't had any issues with Rappahannock County recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clarke County). Everything went their way against Page County on Tuesday as they made off with an 8-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Clarke County.

Their offense was hitting Page County from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Leah Mitchell led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Clarke County's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Strasburg, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
