The Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves will head out to take on the Central Cobras at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oxbridge Academy is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Oxbridge Academy proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 17) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Wellington, sneaking past 3-1.
Aubrey Vital made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Riley Fraunfelter was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Hailey Goode was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Central fell victim to Legacy and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 15-0 to the Lions. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Cobras were not able to get on the board.
Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Sparkman, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
This is the second loss in a row for Central and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for Oxbridge Academy, their record now sits at 8-0.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Oxbridge Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .410. However, it's not like Central struggles in that department as they've averaged .472. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Oxbridge Academy's way against Central in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, as Oxbridge Academy made off with a 15-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the ThunderWolves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
