Softball Recap: Heber Springs Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Heber Springs ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They skirted past the Mt. Vernon-Enola Warhawks 9-8. The win was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Penelope Erisman spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and seven unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mya Foster, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Mack Lozeau, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI.

Heber Springs' victory bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Mt. Vernon-Enola, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10-1.

Coming up, Heber Springs will venture away from home to square off against Rose Bud at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mt. Vernon-Enola, they will host Conway Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
