Softball Recap: Fostoria Takes a Loss

Fostoria had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 1-5 to make it four. They came up short against the Maumee Panthers, falling 17-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Redmen were not able to get on the board.

As for Maumee, they now have a winning record of 5-4. Considering they have won four games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

For Maumee's part, Reign Hurt was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave Hurt a new career-high. Autumn Gugger was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Fostoria wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 20-7 victory against Bowsher on the 15th. As for Maumee, they have also already played their next match, a 17-4 win against Genoa Area on the 16th.
