Basketball Recap: New Iberia Yellowjackets vs. Lafayette Christian Academy Knights
On Tuesday, the New Iberia Yellowjackets faced the Lafayette Christian Academy Knights in a battle between two of the state's top teams. New Iberia came out on top against the Knights by a score of 46-36. The victory made it back-to-back wins for New Iberia.
New Iberia's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austin Delahoussaye, who scored ten points along with six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Otis Anderson, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
New Iberia has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. As for Lafayette Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 20-5.
New Iberia will head out on the road to square off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Westgate will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 12th). As for Lafayette Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
