Softball Preview: Hamilton Huskies vs. Xavier College Prep Gators
Hamilton and Xavier College Prep are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Hamilton Huskies will head out on the road to square off against the Xavier College Prep Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hamilton will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
On Wednesday, Hamilton had just enough and edged Corona del Sol out 3-2.
Mattingly Mauzey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive pitching appearances.
On the hitting side, Hamilton's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Rylan Bibiloni, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Xavier College Prep gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 5-1 win over Mountain View.

At the plate, Lauren Putz was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Sariah McNabb was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Hamilton has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. As for Xavier College Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 21-4-1.
