Recap: East Liverpool Potters vs. Catholic Central Crusaders
After a string of three wins, the East Liverpool Potters's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell 55-48 to Catholic Central. East Liverpool was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Catholic Central apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Catholic Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ella Maragos out in front who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mary Rohde, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
East Liverpool's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Catholic Central, they pushed their record up to 9-6 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
East Liverpool will play host again and welcome Beaver, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Beaver is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. As for Catholic Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Monroe Central at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Monroe Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Catholic Central likes a good challenge.
