Basketball Recap: Sandy Valley Takes a Loss

Sandy Valley played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Liberty Baptist Academy Knights and fell 60-26. The Sidewinders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Liberty Baptist Academy was led to victory by Bruce Delgado and Brandon Kiel. Delgado posted 17 points and five steals, while Kiel put up 18 points. Delgado is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Josiah Delgado, who scored six points in addition to nine boards and eight blocks.

Sandy Valley is on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9. As for Liberty Baptist Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.

Sandy Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 50-46 loss against Word of Life Christian Academy on the 14th. As for Liberty Baptist Academy, they will square off against Mountain View Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Liberty Baptist Academy is facing Mountain View Christian at the right time seeing as Mountain View Christian is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
