Basketball Game Preview: St. James Saints vs. Cleveland Clippers

The St. James Saints will square off against the Cleveland Clippers at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Cleveland will be up against a hot St. James squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. St. James managed a 67-63 win over Cedar Mountain on Monday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Saints' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while the Cougars are ranked 66th).

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Cleveland beat Martin County West 67-63 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Clippers.

St. James is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.4 points per game. As for Cleveland, they pushed their record up to 10-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
