Preview: Tabiona Tigers vs. Wayne Badgers
Tabiona has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. After both having extra time off, the Tabiona Tigers and the Wayne Badgers will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 6:00 p.m. on December 28th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Two weeks ago, Tabiona earned a 71-61 win over American Prep WV.
Tabiona's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan Rhoades, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. The contest was Rhoades' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Easton Peterson was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, Wayne waltzed into their contest two weeks ago with five straight wins but they left with six. They walked away with a 56-44 victory over Manila.
Wayne got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brayden Lee out in front who scored 11 points. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryker Peterson , who scored 13 points.
Tabiona pushed their record up to 6-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Wayne, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Tabiona didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Wayne in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 43-37 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tabiona since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
