After a string of nine wins, Fossil Ridge's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 55-48 to the Windsor Wizards. The SaberCats were probably out for revenge after losing 47-41 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Despite the defeat, Fossil Ridge had strong showings from Addilyn Sandstedt, who went 7 of 13 on her way to 23 points and six boards, and Elli Johnson, who posted 14 points and seven rebounds. The match was Sandstedt's third in a row with at least ten points.
Windsor found their leader in sophomore Gracie Worlsey, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Worlsey has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Reyleigh Hess, who had 15 points.
Fossil Ridge's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-4. As for Windsor, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.
Fossil Ridge has already played their next game (against Greeley West), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Windsor will venture away from home to face off against Poudre at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Windsor knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Poudre likes a good challenge.
